Colin Wiggins reflects on the role of contemporary art in sacred spaces and highlights here for us the work of Ana Maria Pacheco.
Brazilian born sculptor Ana Maria Pacheco produces dramatic work in a powerful contemporary idiom. This talk will discuss its making and meaning and how it responds to a sacred medieval setting.
Colin Wiggins was Special Projects Curator at the National Gallery, London until 2016 where he worked closely with Pacheco during her residency there in 1998-2000. He has worked with many leading artists including Peter Blake, Frank Auerbach and Michael Landy.
